WEEK IN RELIGION
Through the combined efforts of the Greek Orthodox, Roman Catholic and Armenian Orthodox churches, the tomb believed to be the tomb of Jesus is undergoing a restoration project. The tomb, which is thought to be the site where Jesus was buried and his resurrection took place, is located in Jerusalem’s Old City under the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. The 8-month project is estimated to cost $3.4 million. The marble slabs of the tomb have weakened over the years and the shrine will be dismantled and rebuilt. Despite the restoration, visitors will still be able to visit the holy site. The church was built above the tomb in the 19th century.

Social media users less committed to single religion
Regardless of their religious traditions, young people who use social media see spiritual options as commodities and resources that they can tailor to meet their own needs. According to a study at Baylor University, researchers found that between 50 and 80 percent of social media users are more likely to see it as acceptable for others of their faith to practice other religions. The study also found that women are more inclined to believe all religions are true and that married people are less likely to accept the notion of many religions being true when compared with only one.

“Rediscovering God in America: Reflections on the Role of Faith in Our Nation’s History and Future” By Newt and Callista Gingrich
As a reminder of God’s role in the history and future of America, Newt and Callista Gingrich give readers a look into the architecture and beauty of the nation’s Capitol in “Rediscovering God in America.” Readers will take a walk through Washington, D.C. to view the nation’s monuments and memorials, including the National Archives, where Thomas Jefferson’s immortal words jump off the page.
